Matthew started sculpting at the age of 7, his father was working at the Canon Paterson Craft Centre
and tought him how to use stone, wood and ivory. In 1984 Matthew left for Harrare for 5 years and had
some expositions. In the 90's he lived and worked in Murehwa, and continued his expositions in Harare. In 2000
he started working at Chitungwiza Arts Centre, and a year later he became friend of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.
From that time he has been an inspiration to al lot of young artists, whom he tought the art.

- 1992 Award of Merit of the Annual Mobil Heritage Exhibiton at the National Art Gallery of Zimbabwe.

Matthew's work can be seen all over the world.
He works at Chitungwiza Arts Centre.
